December 12, 2007

Samantha Kane At Loves Command
Brothers In Arms Book 4 ~ At Love’s Command by Samantha Kane
From: Ellora’s Cave
A child when they were betrothed, Sophia Middleton has been waiting twelve years for Ian Witherspoon to return and marry her. Preyed upon by her vicious father and older brother, Sophie longs for Ian to rescue her.

Ian Witherspoon and Derek Knightly became best friends during the Peninsular War, and returned as lovers. Two more years pass before the desire for a wife and children prompts Ian to recall his little fiancée. Ian is determined to make a marriage work between the three of them. Derek opposes the marriage despite Ian’s determination, but how long will he be able to resist love’s command?

Sophie’s vulnerability hides a core of strength and the combination enthralls and seduces both men. An apt pupil, Sophie learns trust and passion from Ian, and Derek tutors her in the ecstasy of surrender. Love will conquer their fears as they fight those who would tear them apart.

Woohoo!

    8 bucks?!!! Grrrh.

    My thoughts exactly!

I love Samantha Kane and Lauren Dane and Lora Leigh and Sarah McCarty.
Let’s hope for El Lora’s Cave’s sake those authors keep publishing with them.

El Lora’s Cave is price hiking themselves out of some peoples wallets.
I am not going to be buying many new authors from there.
Not with some of the god awful editing I have had to read through.

The quality of the product should continually match the price.
    They are not Samhain.

Well said. The covers suck ass, too. Sarah’s books are excellent and I never ever ever would have bought them because the covers are so lame, but then I read Caine’s Reckoning and splurged on all three Promises.

8 bucks though? For crying out loud. What I hate is that they have me and they know it. grrh.

I agree the price is too high. I don’t know what Ellora’s Cave is thinking. Samantha Kane however, is one of the few ebook authors I’m willing to pay that much for, even though I really can’t afford it especially long term. I can go out and by a paperback for eight dollars!

I was a little taken aback at the price too, but then again it is twice as long as my two previous full length novels. And it takes me so damn long to write one at least you don’t have to shell out that kind of money often, LOL. Happy reading. ;-)

It was a hit to the pocket book, but well worth it :) I just spent the afternoon with my butt in my computer chair (we have a rather intimate relationship this chair and I) and now that I’m done, I can only wish that I could find more of this sort of historical on the shelf.

I’ll be waiting with baited breath for the next installment - though I did do a little website exploring and saw no mention of anything in the works yet :(

I say we all go over and beat on her email till she coughs up Veronica, Wolf and Lord Kensington’s romance. Immediate Gratification NOW!

I wonder how many books I can possibly read this week, cuz I want this one NOW. Thanks for the update Anne!

Ha Teddy! I finally found your blog. You couldn’t hide it from me forever. *G*

FWIW, because my books are 130K, Ellora’s pretty much structured a price for the super plus category for my books at 7.99 about 3 years ago, so unless they’ve raised the price again, that’s been the standard price for ebooks over 100k for 3 years at EC. Shorter length prices I can’t talk about because I only have the one novella and that took me longer to write than Promises Prevail. My natural pacing is so not short.

It beats the print price which is 17.99-12.99 (I think) but then gain, my books are longer than most hard cover so there is at least some justification.

BTW- None of you saw me here. :-) I’m playing hookey.

This is my favorite so far. It was absolutely worth the money. I can’t wait for Veronica’s story but I’m also wondering whats in store for Freddy and Brett. Now I have to go and get Forever by Shayla Kersten at Liquid Silver

I finished reading this latest by Kane. She sure can write the best menage a trio’s scenes out there. Plus the love between Ian and Derek was so emotional and HOT!! I love you Ms. Kane and I can’t wait for Very’s story. Need it now please. :)

Lordy this is one good book. Samantha, I promise not to bitch about the price again. ABSOLUTELY worth it.

Thanks! I’m glad you all liked it. As for immediate gratification~that only happens in my books, LOL. As I said before, it takes me a long time to write one of these babies. Expect Freddy and Brett sometime this year…

Not that I’m excited, or anything.

Got something to say?
