All Romance eBooks has brilliantly partnered up with Stanza to provide eBook Readers the ability to browse their eBook catalog for new reads on the iPhone.
I tried this out…
Just go into the Stanza app on your iPhone.
Punch the “Online Catalog” tab.
Press the “plus sign” at the bottom right hand corner of the screen and type in the name “All Romance eBooks” and then add this url beneath it…
http://allromanceebooks.com/epub-feed.xml
Now press the “save button” on the top right hand corner of the screen.
You should now see a “All Romance eBooks” tab under “Online Catalog”.
Press the “All Romance eBooks” tab.
You will now be able to download and read excerpts from anything in their catalog.
This is still not as great purchasing wise as the eReader from Fictionwise which allows you to download from your online Fictionwise library any multi-format non-DRM eBooks you have purchased from Fictionwise but it is getting there on a much more versatile and usable iPhone eBook Reader platform.
Now if only Samhain would get on this ASAP and allow Stanza users to read first chapters of their latest offerings and also purchase and download from the iPhone Stanza interface. That might get them into high gear.
Teddypig rule: Never underestimate the power of instant gratification or the money that is made by providing it.
Remember back when I first talked about Stanza and it’s multiple useful functions of being not only an eBook Reader but also an eBook Tool. This is something that Fictionwise and Amazon is failing to provide… Stanza allows you to read many of the Microsoft only eBook formats from it’s Apple OSX desktop and the iPhone.

ARe is fast becoming a favourite vendor of mine. Of course my sales numbers coming back from there might have something to do with it :) But authorwise they have been pretty outgoing for me.
ARe author booklist pages have the ability to include an author bio (as does FW). I enquired on how/who has to forward the data to make use of that function and ARe responded promptly and when I did get back to them with my info they had it up on my author page in a matter of hours. FW, well, I didn’t have that much luck (the word was they will only deal with the publishers in this instance).
ARe are also encouraging to authors with their Wildfire interviews and the opportunity to use that as a promo venue via the free short story at the end of the newsletter. (Cheap shot promo, look out for mine in Dec).
No one at ARe would know me from a bar of soap, but I just thought I’d throw a shout out for the goodness on the author side of the fence too, as I’ve still got 6 months before I can contemplate an iPhone… unless I decide to try out the new Blackberry Storm.
Hrmm, I’ve heard rumors of apps shops and things for the Storm, I really should check that out, wonder if Stanza runs on what ever platform that’s on?

Your wish for Samhain titles is coming true – well partially. All of their titles will soon be available for direct download through ARe’s Stanza catalog. You’ll notice new titles popping up daily. There’s an extensive backlist – but we’re getting through it and will have the new titles available in ePub as well. Your request for first Chapter availability is timed perfectly! I just finished drafting an email to publishers asking them to add first Chapters so that they cross over on the Stanza feed. The request for that will be going out next week and you’ll start to see first Chapters in many cases in edition to the teaser excerpts that you see now.
