I believe in fires at midnight
When the dogs have all been fed
A golden toddy on the mantle
A broken gun beneath the bed
Jethro Tull
My grandmother came from Baker City Oregon where most of her and my grandfather’s ranching families seem to remain. I think I am related in some round about way to at least most of the city fathers, various policemen, the fire department, the crazy town barber is one of my assorted uncles and about half the road work crews are various cousins and some of them are even good looking. Grandma was buried in the old Sumpter Cemetery with most of my ancestors extending back to the gold rush.
Anyway, I always remember her and her herb teas and her vitamins and good lord the woman was better stocked than most health food stores. Now being a true Virgo you would think I would have taken careful notes and followed each and every example. Luckily I stayed far far away from most of it.
Except I have always had at least two and sometimes more boxes of this damn tea. Especially when I figured out that drinking a pot of coffee before bed is not a really great idea. It is a comfort on a cold winter’s night and I love the graphics. Here’s to grandma and her herbal tea.

I have both Sleepytime and Tummy Mint in my tea cabinet. Along with about 15 other boxes of tea, because I just can’t stop myself from trying new ones, even when there’s plenty of the old left behind. But tea is so…soothing.

You just cannot find the Tummy Mint in the stores anymore.
Had to order some online from the site.

We get even get Lemon Zinger here in the backwoods that is NZ. Yum. Have not seen tummy mint though. I also have nice tea cups that were nana’s and maybe it sounds hellish geeky but I am sure it tastes even nicer when it is in a nice tea cup. :)

You were extremely lucky! My Grandma’s cure-all was cod liver oil. She would sit on us, hold our nose and cram it down our throats for any illness real or imagined. We all had gorgeous hair from all the fish oil but YUCK! Tea sounds so much better.
