    I’m from Canada and I’m proud of my country not only for legalizing gay marriage, but for making it illegal for people to propagate hate based on sexual orientation. This was long overdue. Now that I live in the States, I’m appalled at what gay people have to go through here. I hope the new administration will be a breath of fresh air on such issues, but in the meantime, my heart goes out to those whose lives continue to be unfairly impacted by the fearful religious right.

    I gotta say I was beyone thrilled to hear this when my alarm went off this morning and they were reporting it on NPR. Good. It’s a time waster and it has nothing to do with anything. Now maybe we can focus on issues far more important than who some random soldier goes home to at night.
