Randy Jones ~ Macho Man
From: Praeger Publishers
I don’t know how I missed all this. Seems Randy Jones one of my favorite members of The Village People wrote a memoir recently. Got in all sorts of trouble it seems. I was watching some TV Documentary about the seventies that had a huge amount of talk about Studio 54 so they dragged Randy out to discuss it of course since well he was gay and that place was basically an extreme gay dance club/bath house that allowed straight people in every so often.
Anyway, in this movie Randy was talking about passing a joint around at Studio 54 (Yeah, like that was the only thing that ever got passed around there.) and mentioned one of the people present at the time. The name got blooped out but he mouthed something. So I Googled it up, because you might have TV censorship but lawyers cannot stop the Google. Lillian Carter, you know the president’s mother, was the person who handed him the joint. With the White House Chief of Staff helping her no less.
Well, while reading all about that you know what got ripped out of the book pronto? An interesting story of a very young actor Randy met at an Andy Warhol party named Tom Cruise in Atlanta of all places. OH MY GOD! No wonder this book got sent out hush hush. It was facing lawsuits before it even got published. Because Tom’s not gay and never would hangout with gay people you know. He has a kid you know. No gay guys ever have procreated on the face of the earth.
Anyway, GO RANDY! You were always the cutest Village Person. I should know because I had your Village People albums. All of them! I have got to read this book.

Wowza. That wild Miss Lillian…
And of course Tom.Is.Not.Gay. There’s no reason – absolutely none, we tell you! – for a LOT of people in L.A. to roll their eyes and refer to it as an ‘open secret’.

Love that man’s face. Intense much? Now I have to read his book. I haven’t read a good ol’ juicy celebrity “tell all” in longer than I can remember!
