Why the hell has Food Network not put this dang show on DVD?
I caught the Fine Living version recently and they had changed the Backdraft soundtrack music. It’s just not the same anymore. That music was as over the top and memorable as the dubbed in voices. I compared the two versions of the show over on the Iron Chef Collection site this weekend.
The Food Network bringing Ryōri no Tetsujin to these shores and dubbing it like a bad Kung Fu movie was OMG! genius. Not getting this Japanese show on DVD in the version Food Network spent so much time creating, that I still enjoy to this day, is just another missed opportunity and let’s face it following it up with Iron Chef America was a bad idea from the beginning.
Get whatever licensing you need guys and bring the original funny brilliant concept out on DVD please.
