Apple Mac Mini

I have been wanting to update my computers at home but also pay the mortgage and believe me that balance is not easy with the economy in the dumpster.

So how to pinch pennies?

Especially since I want a new Mac? Apple is anything but cheap.

Here is something you may have thought would be a waste of money.
See they updated the Mac Mini recently. It’s now 2GHZ Intel Core Duo processor for both models and the cheapest at $599.00 has a 120GB hard drive and 1GB of memory.

Now first off OSX is way different then Windows so 2GHZ is plenty for most people and this hack here is only CHEAP if you already have an external hard drive like one of those cheap terabyte drives you can pick up from any Best Buy and a flat panel screen and an Apple keyboard and mouse. Most people who have had computers at home for a while now have all this stuff already. If you don’t have all this stuff then move on to the cheapest iMac where you get all that in a package deal.

But if you do have these things then…

The processors between the high and low Mac Mini are the same so then all we are looking at is hard drive and memory. $599.00 is starters and for just having Apple upgrade those things the price jumps to $799.00 and you don’t have $800.00 dollars to spend here on any stupid Mac Mini.

BUT! Check out this site… Ramjet Memory for Mac Mini

Ramjet has a 4GB DDR3-1066 memory package for the Mac Mini (2x 2GB) that takes the cheapest new Mac Mini and turns into a Super Mac Mini running 4GB of memory for $85.00 and skills with a putty knife.

Add in the fact you have a external hard drive at a terabyte already and you see where I am going with this?

For $684.00 which is still cheaper than any other Mac Apple will sell you and has more memory than Apple actually sells in the Mini giving you gobs of space to run things in and you already had a huge external hard drive.

So there you go, the bestest Super Mac Mini you can have for the cheapest price running the latest Apple OS and software. Cost saving and energy efficient! And all you did was use a putty knife and slap in more memory.

You can has Scrivener!
