As Mac News World pointed out this morning a few heavily veiled references to Apple’s plans came out this week.
In response to an analyst question about December’s projected performance, Oppenheimer cited “significantly more air freight” as a charge that would affect the forecast’s margins.
Upon further questioning later in the call, Cook explained, “The air freight is not related to the iPhone, so these are unrelated topics,” noting that the air freight is planned to get enough units into the channel in time for the holidays.
Oppenheimer chimed in, “I’m sorry I can’t be specific on the product, but it’s an abnormal sequential increase.”
So what PRODUCT can he “not talk about” during the week they bring out all these new updated Macs and a new mouse?
ABNORMAL like in typical Apple product introduction?
In DECEMBER?
Plus has anyone been reading about all the publishers publicly announcing their planned support for the Apple Tablet. Despite not a word from Apple itself.
Sounds like a solid indication here and what would that do to Sony and Amazon and Barnes & Noble if their entire planned Holiday eBook Reader sales suddenly got shifted out from under them due to Apple launching a new must have Apple Tablet for the holidays? Sorry, but does that sound more take no prisoners full battle mode than something they might bring out first quarter 2010 when everyone has to pay their taxes and already bought an expensive eInk device?
I know I would buy in a minute and man what a blood bath.
