Plastic Logic has announced their product in the eInk eBook Reader market.
First The Hype…
“The first proReader designed for business professionals.”
“The QUE brand stands for a premium reading experience.”
Just The Facts…
eInk Touchscreen (Which Sony shows with their products reduces readability in eInk)
8.5-inch-by-11-inch
Wi-fi and AT&T connectivity
Supports PDF, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel documents
Tied in with yet another book store Barnes & Noble
OK check out the words “business professional” and “premium” which suggests higher prices above the existing Kindle.
If this implies where they are going then around the time they launch this thing the Apple Tablet will probably be on the immediate horizon. I certainly do not think any high priced eInk device is going to compete against a nice color screen or multi-functionality or ergonomic design (Ease of Use) of a full on Smart Tablet and known Apple ergonomics is where smart business people are going to be putting their money.
The simple facts are most PowerPoint and Excel documents use color to communicate their data efficiently.
Last but not least… Everyone has played with an iPhone so they know what they are getting and what it is worth. How many people have used a Plastic Logic?
