B.J. Daniels ~ Crime Scene At Cardwell Ranch
From: Harlequin
I figured that if Mills & Boon was running a deal then well you know…
Harlequin has 17 free eBooks on their page. That should keep you guys reading for at least a couple of days. You Mac OSX folks can just download the Microsoft lit format no DRM and Stanza loves it.

So this has nothing to do with free Harlequins, but it seemed like it might be a post you’d enjoy.

Harlequin is big enough I cannot believe they do not have their own eBook App on the iPhone.

Maybe a reflection of low volume of ebook sales through HQ channels? It would potentially be a lot of dev money that might take a long time to see fruit? (dev money maybe better put into a new ebook only imprint?)
We all know they are pretty ahead of the game eBook wise (except for that pesky drm), but from the mentions I’ve seen here and there from authors, the avg HQ reader isn’t quite there yet in embracing the ebook as the packaging of choice. But who knows, I’m just musing possible scenarios, maybe they do have something in the works.

Nah, that’s non-techy thinking of it’s too hard like it’s so hard to do a web page and throw up some merchant accounts for processing paypal and cards. You need to “own” your own retail channel into the Android and iPhone OS like B&N or Amazon does right now. Otherwise you end up supplying eBooks to other retailers doing this “hard work” instead of owning that tight profit margin yourself.
In 2000 maybe websites with retail was enough for internet presence in 2010 you best be capable of iPhone apps and Android apps.
