Apple Magic Mouse

Apple Magic Mouse

I got my Mac Mini up and running and I am so loving it. Cheap Apple Mac goodness and it is a brick power house I tell you.

Anyway, I carted Jason off to the Apple Store in Raleigh, NC. and he loved the new 27 inch iMac (Pretty screen, pretty processor, pretty expensive and all) but also we both liked the new Apple Magic Mouse. Now IF you are still using a mouse and have bluetooth on your computer the Apple Magic Mouse is not only wireless but it is also touch sensitive so it does the scrolling thing you usually need a wheel for (To go up and down? Well this one can go side to side.) and it feels really cool in your hand like an enamel bar of soap. Worth the price for a mouse and a great gift idea for a stocking stuffer.

But… You still have to move it around like a mouse. It’s that whole wrist action thing that finally made mice a no-no with me and my job because I am on the computer constantly. All that moving around the desk adds up.

Logitech Trackman Wheel

Logitech Trackman Wheel

Here is what I swear by for fucking years now. $29.95 full price. I don’t even pay the couple of extra bucks for that newfangled wireless job they got. Why? It’s not like you move this thing around the desk at all to worry about wires. I have one for my work laptop. I have one over by my Mac Mini. I love this Logictech Trackman Wheel of mine! You put your thumb on the ball and move your thumb and rest your other fingers on the buttons and the wheel. The desktop is yours to control at your finger tips.

So Apple Magic Mouse is great and worth it if you like the mouse but it still cannot replace my Logitech Trackman Wheel. Unless Apple wants to make a Magic Trackman Wheel for old cranky computer sys-admins like me with talented thumbs. Logitech never made a bluetooth version.
