I love my Droid so far, but I can't seem to catch on to the font changing thing that you mentioned.. Am I missing an application download?? Also, when I want to enlarge the screen, I sometimes can catch the + and - button at the bottom, but can't always get it to come up. Is there some sort of secret to having it show up on the screen? Someplace to tap that I'm not aware of? It works great when it does!! I am still learning - put in my contacts and phone numbers on my gmail screen today because the Verizon people couldn't figure out how to download my old numbers from my old phone. I think they were old Alltel people anyhow!

You can enlarge the fonts and change the fonts, also 'bold' them. There is a 'night' setting that makes the screen black and the text white. the resolution is much much better than reading off a computer. My eyes aren't getting blurry or tired. I've been reading 'Don Quiote' which was one of the many many free downloads. I closed a book and when I reopened it, it automatically went to my last page.

There's a 'search by text' function. It seems that it does everything that the epub application does, if you've ever used that. The phone itself isn't getting hot in my hand as I use it and the battery life seems pretty long. I've only read on the palm treo before so my experience of ereaders is primitive.

I went to allromance ebooks and bought a book which downloaded quickly and easily into my phone.

This is the best buy for the buck I've seen in a long time.

Thanks so much for alerting me to this toy, teddy. Any more questions? I'd be happy to answer. I'm still trying to solve the italic issue.

So far, I can report that the screen resolution is breathtaking. I'm coming from an LG touch, not an iPhone, so I can't cross compare ease-of-use, but I'm finding it pretty intuitive. And fast. fast fast fast. wheeee!

The one thing I already dislike is the !free! Andiko ereader doesn't recognize italics. I'm all over the internet looking for a fix. Maybe some downloadable Android-compatible font? (tell me if you hear of anything)

But I've uploaded my ebooks and pdf files onto it and everything looks great. Lots of free apps, yada yada. Same thing you got with your iphone, though I think there are less apps available for the droid than for the iphone, currently.

The gmail thing made the entire process practically painless. Android does not support backup assistant (Verizon's contact and email backup app) but it only took an extra step for me to export my contacts via gmail and then resync them.

The touch screen is very sensitive and responsive. Not frustrating like some touch screens. Nice solid construction. I like this phone so far, teddy-pig. the plan is reasonable and affordable.

High def photos!!!
