The Fictionwise Special Introductory Offer
The Facts…
6 inch eInk display with 4 shade Grayscale
B&N/Fictionwise eReader DRM & Adobe ePub DRM
Windows Only for firmware support (Mac & Linux not supported except to transfer eBooks)
512MB Memory with SD Card support up to 4gigs
Unique to the Foxit eSlick is it’s PDF handling, this device was built for PDF. It has 8 times PDF zoom so PDF diagrams would handle better than on the Kindle DX.
Problem is… Notice it does not have Adobe PDF DRM support? Notice the 4 shade Grayscale?
Reviews have noted extremely stiff controls and have complained the units felt flimsy to them.

This device puzzles me. Why buy a device that reads so few formats? I didn’t see where it supported ePub – I thought it was just non-DRM txt and pdf.

That’s why I mentioned Firmware support Chris. New Firmware out allows for Fictionwise eReader DRM and ePub DRM. BUT you have to put it on using Windows if you already have one of these.

Crap .. the decisions one has to try to make! Ereader device or tablet? I like the sound of the Apple tablet and at least that is one device that would actually make it to New Zealand, unlike the various ereaders that just aren’t available here. Definitely won’t be making any hasty decisions while we’re in San Francisco in July.
