Jade Buchanan ~ Black Wolf

Jade Buchanan ~ Black Wolf
From: Aspen Mountain Press

I should probably say that my favorite book is The Felidae 1: Laithe’s Pride, because it was my first book and it still has a lot of feelings attached to it, but Black Wolf was the first book I wrote where I really let go and threw out my internal editor. I wrote this exactly the way I saw it in my mind (in all its silly and quirky glory) and considering the majority of the plot was worked up over drinks with my sister and my cousins, there are also a lot of good memories attached to writing this. I still get the giggles when I remember the entire book started with a dare to write a book about a furry nut sac.

Tanya Huff ~ Long Hot Summoning

1. Tanya Huff ~ Long Hot Summoning This was the first book I read where I was introduced to gay characters falling in love. I’m not sure whether it was the fact that there was a gay romance in the book or that the other characters treated it as completely normal, but it was a very eye-opening book for me. The relationship between Diana and Kris was dealt with so wonderfully in Long Hot Summoning that it essentially started my love affair with all things Tanya Huff. ***Teddypig ~ Not In eBook***

Julie Garwood ~ The Wedding

2. Julie Garwood ~ The Wedding My very first romance book and a book I go back to time and again because of the richness of the characters. I love everything Julie Garwood has ever written, so it’s really hard to choose a favorite, but this one gets props for being my first. Community and family ties are common themes in Julie Garwood’s books, which is something I try to build into my own books because family is so important to me. ***Teddypig ~ Not In eBook***

Sherri L. King ~ Ravenous

3. Sherri L. King ~ Ravenous My very first ebook and probably close to my first erotic romance in general. I was fascinated with the world built up in The Horde Wars series, and at the time it was so far from what I had been reading previously that it really made an impact on the types of books I started to buy, which eventually led to me discovering menage romances and then gay erotic romances.

Jet Mykles ~ Heaven

4. Jet Mykles ~ Heaven I’m pretty lucky that I’m friends with a lot of my favorite m/m authors, and there are so many books of theirs that I adore and reread continuously, but out of all of them it’s Heaven that really made an impact on me. I don’t even want to guess how many times I’ve read this book and Jet really did a wonderful job with the characters and the world of the Heaven Sent series. In an odd twist of fate, it was actually a review I wrote for Heaven that caused a friend of mine to ask if I ever considered writing. A few months later, I had penned my very first book.

Morgan Hawke ~ Torrid

5. Morgan Hawke ~ Torrid Kenshin and Trey were such a fun and erotic couple in this story and Torrid really started my fascination with the yaoi genre. Before I read this I hadn’t really been aware of the entire spectrum of graphic novels that are out there and now I’m ridiculously obsessed with them.

Awww, muah! Thank you for including me in your top 5!

I’m right there with you with Ravenous and Torrid. Great books. I’ve not read the others but I keep meaning to read Tanya Huff one of these days.

The Wedding is one of my favourite Julie Garwood books. I’ve read and enjoyed 3 of Morgan Hawkes’ Imperial Stars books (I think there is a prequel that I haven’t read yet), but haven’t read any other her other books.

I was one of the proofreaders for a couple of your Changeling stories. The first one introduced me to your work, the second one I asked for because I really like the wild and wacky ride you take the reader on.
