One of my favorite book stores Lambda Rising is closing in DC. Some of my first excursions into the Gay Community were going to Gay Bookstores and it is sad to see them and the bars I used to love go even if I understand having myself moved far away from San Francisco due to the cost of trying to live there. You cannot support something when you can’t afford to live in that community. A Different Light recently closed their LA store and only the San Francisco location is left. Luckily A Different Light did a good job of opening an online store so hopefully they will remain viable. I think this is a sign of the times and it is sad but not unexpected.
