I hate the Apple Mini DisplayPort deal. They do not provide anything to adapt it up to the standard HDMI plug so it does nothing but become yet another odd ball connection no one will ever use.
Kanex sorta corrects Apple’s stupidity. The iAdapt provides a way to use the Mini DisplayPort plus add the audio signal back in with the Apple® Mini Jack digital audio output so you can use a normal everyday display at 1080p with built in speakers and the typical HDMI input. This is great for the Mac Mini or people who have a laptop but want a bigger screen and keyboard to sit at sometimes.
This adapter is something Apple should have provided in the first place with their MacBook, MacBook Pro, Mac Mini, and iMac or they could have simply used the standard HDMI port but no. It’s not like anyone else in the world wants or needs a proprietary Mini DisplayPort for anything useful. Yeah like Apple really got everyone on board with those stupid Firewire cables and plugs what a load that was.
