Please, someone stop me. I want to kidnap the next person I hear online speculating how GREAT the Windows 7 running HP Slate is gonna be… and Oh did you hear it will run a complete operating system unlike that Apple iPad?
I want to drag them kicking and screaming to a local Best Buy and force them to use the HP TouchSmart Laptop.
See, you can already go and try out exactly what HP is cooking up for you right this very damn minute. And you are so right it does come standard with Windows 7 which it needs a mouse and keyboard to use and it does run any eBook Reading application you might want AS LONG AS YOU USE THE MOUSE AND KEYBOARD!
Have you got it people? Is it sinking in that these sudden geniuses of tablet technology at HP and Microsoft have already been trying to sell you this crappy stuff THAT NEVER WORKED RIGHT for years now?
So what will the HP Slate bring to the table except design features that Apple should in all respects sue their freaking ass off over? Not much, but it sure lets a lot of Apple haters keep on hating.
Because the real secret is the Apple iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch were built from the ground up to use touch screen at the OS level and the same is true for every application you will ever buy for them.
So ask yourself some simple questions… Was Windows 7 programmed to use a touch screen? Was Adobe Flash programmed to use a touch screen? Were all those OLD Flash Websites everyone seems rant and rave about whenever discussing the iPad, well were they programmed with touch screen input in mind?
The answers are No, No, and God No.
So will the HP Slate really change anything unless there is some huge bucks put in to reprogram a lot of garbage?
Probably Not!
