From: Engadget ~ Microsoft’s Courier ‘digital journal’: exclusive pictures and details (update: video!)
The more I see the more I think this is a really interesting gadget and all that… BUT, It’s Microsoft! So I just want to see if they actually get it working in a way that makes eBook reading doable without having to go around your elbow to scratch your nose. I could see picking one of these up but only after I got to play with it at Best Buy.

But I don’t see that Q3/Q4 release date being in 2010 because they’ve still got to launch the HP Slate and the Series 7 phones yet this year. This would eat into the hoopla and sales of those. On the other hand, if they don’t continue to leak shit like this, the iPad will establish itself as the top of the line. How many people (like me) will hold off buying an iPad or eReader because we’re waiting for The Courier? My guess is a LOT so that they have a larger field to make comparisons.
I predict that right about the time the HP Slate is released, we’ll see “leaked” pricing for the Courier- significantly more expensive than the Slate of course- so that some people will be encouraged to buy the Slate while others will decide to wait for the Courier.
Besides, even I have to agree that this looks a bit too fantastical for current technology. It’s TOO perfect, therefore I cannot perceive that, in the form we’re seeing in all the videos, it’s anything but fantasy tech pron.
