From CNET: Onkyo HT-S9100THX
The Onkyo HT-S91000THX breaks the HTIB mold, offering four HDMI inputs, full-size speakers, and the best sound we’ve heard to date from an all-in-one system.
I bought the earlier version of this setup back about oh 5 years ago when I bought my last TV. I still love it and it still rocks the house in 5.1 THX certified surround sound. I love it so much I want to update it now with this new 7.1 edition.
Sure you can go look for the best receiver you could afford and then go look for the best speakers you could afford and go look and go look and go look. OR you could plop down the money for this package and get it all at once in an absolute fit of convenience and thriftiness like I did.
The thing is you do not buy speakers or receivers for their looks you buy them for how they sound and putting credit where it is due these things sound fucking fantastic to me but then I blew my hearing out at the disco so ya know. So yeah there is probably tons of better equipment out there that I am sure audiophiles will argue over till the cows come home but like hell if I am going to spend my time wandering the aisles of esoterica trying to find it.
Just make this easy for me like Onkyo did here and stick your best stuff in a one shot package deal and I promise I will continue to buy it for years to come. The pig likes his convenience more than worrying about the brand or the color or how clunky they look or anything like that. It’s just stupid audio equipment that is gonna gather dust in the living room so give me decent sound at a decent price damn it.
