The 1st Annual Lambda Purity Awards

Thanks to Elisa for reminding me “that group” held something last night. Remember kids, it’s not about the quality of the story that got on paper or the talent involved… just promoting WHO wrote it and judging if they represent “the proper gay”. Nothing “good old boy” about all that right?

    So now I’m curious as to how they made sure all the authors had their proper “gay credentials.” Affidavits from boyfriends? (Or girlfriends, for the lesbians.) Checking to make sure the author was sufficiently out? How the heck did they work that?

    They just codified their typical good old boy network they always had. It’s basically the reason anyone with a brain turned their attention to awards where there was actually a chance at competition amongst qualified talented writers whatever their sexual orientation was.
