Someone online commented that Google Android was going to WIN the Smart Phone wars. WIN? Well, I guess you have to define winning for me. Will Google Android be on more Smart Phones than Apple iOS? SURE! IT’S FREE! Will Google Android be sold to more people installed on their new phone than Apple iOS? HELL YES! IT’S FREE!

Which version though? What type of Android experience are you talking about? Some Android Phones will be small, some will be huge, some will be free and “out dated”, some will be expensive and “the latest iPhone Killer” and some will only run version 1 and some will only run version 2 and some will only run version 3.101.666 for 6 months before not being able to upgrade any further and no longer supported by it’s maker. Some will have HTC Sense skinned onto it and some will have whatever Samsung skinned onto it and some will have whatever Dell skinned onto it. So Dell will have version 2 of Android and Samsung will have version 3 of Android and HTC will be working on the just announced version 4 of Android.

It seems to be that having an Apple iPhone or iPad will mean the security and dependability of always knowing what it runs and how it runs and having a Google Android phone will mean “depends on whatever phone you just bought and what OS version it is stuck at” which is gibberish to most people who just want a nice phone.

Mark my words, Google Android will “WIN” the Smart Phone wars because there was never any question in my mind something being given away would not IT’S FREE!… but Google Android will lose any real meaning or benefit to most people. Users will either have their security hacked eventually by it’s lack of consumer safety or protections when it comes to the apps it runs or will eventually be intimidated by it’s constant state of flux and “exceptions to the rule” and a constant 6 month “new version, new phones” cycle and drop it for a more easy to understand and easy to update platform without the hodge podge of gimmicks and garbage and hackers.
