Make It Rain

From: E-Book Sales Grew in April, But More Slowly

Remember back at the beginning of 2010 when this was going to be the biggest bestest year for eBook sales EVER? The Nook was coming and all those crazy eInk Readers were soon to be for sale.

And it was! eBook sales were off the freaking charts till April… Then…

Now what happened in April to create all those flat sales figures? Let’s think… Could it be the Apple iPad was introduced?

No, that should have spurred more eBook sales than ever before.

Could it have been the Dead Tree Publishers jacking up the price of eBooks through their poorly thought out and horribly implemented Agency Model?

Why yes! That’s it! They are to blame for their own crappy sales figures.

Will they try and blame everything and everyone else? Sure!

Have these guys taken responsibility for any of their bad business decisions yet?
And no, this sudden sales slump is not going to go away any time soon since the eBook prices remain too high.

It does sort of make you wonder if any of these guys ever took a basic economics course….

I have a Kindle but not an Ipad so I can’t compare but I’ve heard through other sources that some books that have a really high Kindle price (higher than the DTB version) are being offered at a much more reasonable price through the Apple Ipad store. Apparently Kindle reading consumers aren’t worthy customers (hah).
