From: The Wall Street Journal ~ Amazon Signs on Wylie Agency for Exclusive E-Books
From: The Guardian UK ~ Celebrated authors bypass publishing houses to sell ebooks via Amazon
Amazon just signed an exclusive deal for ePublishing such books as Junky by William Burroughs and The Naked and the Dead by Norman Mailer and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S Thompson.
If any other Publisher had done this you would have seen HUGE announcements about a new force in Publishing blah blah blah but since this is a Retailer expect little to no recognition that times are changing faster than the “dead tree” Publishers were capable of handling.
I expect with each new day and Amazon offering bigger percentages of the profits to see even more agents and authors striking these exclusive eBook deals.
With the sales margins for fancy new hardcovers getting ever so thin the writing as they say is on the wall.
For the low price of $9.99 exclusively from Amazon.
