From: Gizmodo ~ The RIAA Spent $58 Million Suing File Sharers, Got 2% Back
According to leaked tax forms from 2006-2008, the RIAA spent a whopping $58,258,394 on legal fees over the course of those three years, reaping $1,362,572 from accused pirates in return.
And… Those pirates are still file sharing and the RIAA CEO made a 2 million paycheck.
A 2 million dollar paycheck. A 2 million dollar paycheck! For FAILURE!
So I guess that means their clients (The music publishers in this case) have to pay them more to cover all those legal fees to make up for all that effective managing. I expect we will see the RIAA giving advice at the next “Untethered: 2011″ on protecting your eBook copyrights using DRM and lawyers as an effective way to spend all your money.
