Justin Spring ~ Secret Historian
From: Macmillan
Most people would have no clue who the hell Samuel Steward is so I have no idea why they did not just use his dang pen name. Well no biggy that is why I am here for you. Let me show you his pen name…
Yep, THAT PHIL ANDROS! So this little biography is huge. The dirt leaking from it’s pages is already being discussed around the internet. Rumors about the pubic hair of Rudolph Valentino and sexual flings with Rock Hudson and Thornton Wilder. Tons of fun Gay stuff about a time period there is frankly not a lot of documentation left since scandalized folks tended to burn it.
Anyway, keep an eye out for this wonderful glimpse at the life of one of the original Gay Pulp/Erotica authors which I believe will be worth grabbing.

TeddyPig, you’re right on about my pal Phil Andros. Here’s a link to a review of “Secret Historian” that highlights Sam Steward’s connection to sin and sex and sailors in San Francisco. http://www.ebar.com/arts/art_article.php?sec=books&article=575
Enjoy.
