I should be celebrating the courts decisions but I can feel the knife at my back and I just know no matter what HE says it is going to happen yet again… I think the first step is to admit I am in an abusive relationship. In my opinion what our President is saying through the DOJ which he runs and is in complete control of is something like…
I’d really like to stop hitting you–the fact that I’m hitting you really breaks my heart–but to simply stop hitting you doesn’t address the systematic problems that lead to me hitting you in the first place, and we here at the White House are looking for a long-term solution to this problem, not a temporary fix. I’m working on advocating not hitting you, you just have to be patient and hold out hope and vote for me while I keep hitting you. In fact, right this moment somebody on my staff is currently conducting a survey to see how the neighbors would react if I decided to stop hitting you. It should be done by the end of this year, maybe. Most likely then we could discuss a change in the way I am hitting you.
I like what Dan Savage posted about the White House coopting his “It Gets Better” verbiage and using those very words in defense of our “fierce advocate” and his blatantly homophobic decisions to have his DOJ refer to us as pedophiles and worse in court. FUCK YOU!
The party is over.
