    As I started to read it, it seemed like a continuation of a series, rather than the start of a new series. It’s a spinoff from the Ellora’s Cave series Men in Love.

    Yeah I wish authors would think about this type of thing. Give the first book in the series and you hook a reader. If you give a book in the middle of the series you take a chance of losing them.

    Brier’s Bargain is the first book in the Bodyguards in Love series. There’s just no information about Bodyguards in Love being connected to the Men in Love series. The stories about Brier’s brothers are told in the Men in Love series, and apparently a lot of Brier’s story happens in those books as well. I wish that there had been some kind of note of that. Not that I wouldn’t have gotten a free book, but I would have known that to have any context, I should have read those book in the other series first.
