Here are my current three favorite eBookshelf displays from the iPad.

iBooks was a show stopper when I first saw it but I have come to like the clean look of Kobo and the Kindle one I find is getting old because the fake “pages look” they add to the book cover is well, FAKE and distracting to me.

If I was updating a “book selling” retail website though I would so be looking for ideas right here on what customers might find attractive as eBook displays. No silly moving java tricks or rotating images or flash movies just a nice clean usable attractive web page.

::moans:: it’s getting harder and harder to resist that iPad… I just purchased a new Macbook Pro … I don’t need an iPad. I don’t need an iPad. I don’t need a shiny slick uber cool thing with — ooh pretty! — awesome video and pict display and so much better than reading ebooks on my droid!

    I don’t need an iPad.

Wait for the new one with the uber high definition display. It will be worth every penny.

I cannot wait to check out the new iPad. I love my current iPad, but if the upgrades are compelling, I just might be magnanimous and give mine to my husband…

Shhh kel that’s my secret iPad upgrade scheme.

High def? Well, there’s the end to my self-control. I’ll be able to show my reel on it. Any word on when it might be coming out?

Apple usually has a 12 month cycle so the new one they think will be April along with iPhone 5.

I have to say “Confessions of a Prairie Bitch” is the best title ever.

I have resisted e-readers/ipads/etc. because I like to do stuff ont he internet and read at the same time. Well, you know, hop back and forth. I’ve heard the ipad is not so great for easily posting on blogs and I hate typing on a touch screen. Also if I travel, I just have to take my baby computer, I don’t need to take two things with me. Books and work and internet all in one package. Plus I’m cheap.

Oh Tam there is a WordPress App now that makes it a bit easier for blogging on the iPad but no like all my fancy pictures that I have to work with in Photoshop and all that NO WAY.

It is getting easier and there are automated work arounds being created all the time but for complete content creation for this blog at least the iPad still is not the solution to having a full on computer. Bur not much else really is let’s face that fact.

I still can flip between Gmail and quick comments on my blog and the usual twitter post or checking out other peoples blogs on the iPad so for my postings I have to use a computer but for everything else iPad works just fine.

I love the title and I liked the book as long as she stayed on her days on the set. The minute we started getting “family history” and the way too “elaborated sexual abuse scenes” and everything else weaved into it I have to admit I was not so interested.

I guess the whole abuse thing to me has been gone over and over again in better books that focused solely on that aspect that I felt it was almost off topic from why I bought the book.
