The Photo Cookbook ~ Quick & Easy
The Photo Cookbook ~ Baking
I really tend to stay away from buying eBooks as separate apps for the iPad unless they are really something special like the Dr. Suess books you can find in the app store rock for the little ones. They even read to you.
Unfortunately in most cases these separate apps as eBooks are overpriced scams that are less than stellar text based ebooks with some “run of the mill” reader functionality and the best you can say is they really could have been purchased on iBooks or Kindle or Kobo because then you could at least find them in your library with all your other eBooks.
So I still say buyer beware for the most part with the stand alone eBooks unless you know what you are getting into.
These two cookbooks for example are solid gold show stoppers. They go way beyond the general idea of what an eBook is because they are not just text oriented with maybe an index or a search feature but they are photo oriented so the dishes are lovingly pictured and each ingredient is pictured and each cooking phase is pictured.
Each cookbook comes with tons of pictures and pop-up explanation boxes for just about everything. Touch each ingredient pictured and get an instant lesson on what it is and how it is used.
You have to see it to believe it but everyone who checks these out on my iPad are impressed. Go ahead give one a try. Oh and please keep your iPad away from any flour it gets a tad messy.

I’ll check them out. I’ve just started using my iPad in the kitchen – I still mostly use cookbooks.
I see you went back to the traditional format (for the mobile version). I admit i like this better. Was Padpressed too limiting?

When I am upstairs in bed I want to see my comments so basically I turn off the plugin.
I still have to get with those guys and find out if they will fix that.
