To Linda Good Question: How Will Book Signings Fare?
Here’s a quick question…
You have seen a business card. So imagine two laid end to end.
It’s a bookmark right?
So why don’t more writers simply have like pictures of their latest books on the front of the bookmark and then on the back one half their printed contact info and maybe the other half some space people can write stuff in and then fold the bookmark into a business card?
Stealth bookmarks for the writer who does not have time to lug two different types of the same thing, basic business tools, around with them.
Also, I totally agree on the postcards idea.
Take K.Z. Snow for instance she has a shit load of really nice eBook covers to pull from and all she has to do is put the book title and buying information and the blurb on the back and nice postcards for her readers.
But K.Z. Snow sold her soul for those covers I would hate to do that with a “not so nice” eBook cover really.
Last but not least…
I still think this is the best idea I have ever seen if you are a new eBook author.
This…
Well OK, maybe not exactly that pamphlet but the same idea.
A handmade pamphlet with the first chapter of your eBook says you are a writer who is really proud of their work and wants to share it with me.
That’s the heart and soul of what we are all about anyway. Right?

Shhhh. Damn, TP, all I need is Westboro Baptist Church picketing in front of my house because I’m in league with the Devil . . . and the Gays. ;-)
You did throw out some excellent ideas, though. I just wish I had the money and savvy to implement them.

Oops! I have MS Office 2003. But I’ll definitely save the link in case I ever get out of the technological Stone Age. (I’m a dinosaur, buddy. Seriously.)

Check where you work for a savings on that. I buy my Microsoft Office from my job for $20 for the whole dang thing.
If I remember right they had that same template for 2003. Check the microsoft downloads section in the archive area.

See, this is what I should do with all my currently dormant graphics and design skills…
I am planning to go to the NO gay lit retreat and I am wondering how do I get autographs on my ebooks? Maybe this is the answer? Or have everyone sign my iPad cover?

Nod nod – I already do this – get them all free from Vistaprint, and print my own pamphlets out – have a pamphet template for each book. Of course booksignings are rare as hen’s teeth over here, but shall be taking a mass to the UK MEET in July, and I always pop some in with books that people win.
