Proof that at one time Mandate which began life in 1975 was trying to be the prettier hipper less sleazy Drummer Magazine. It actually survived longer than Drummer Magazine when it folded in 2009 but by then it was looking more like a clone of Playguy for the smooth clean shaven vanilla porn boy crowd with not a single facial or chest hair or kink to be found. It was also as ubiquitous as a Bob Damron Address Book being it was found for sale in every god damn gay bookstore countrywide and kept more hairless bodybuilders in steroids than anyone else which was probably more important in the end.
