Annette Blair ~ Jacob's Return

Annette Blair ~ Jacob’s Return
From: Lachesis Publishing

I am only about 25% through this here book and I have to say I throughly enjoy what this writer is doing. This book is simply not concerned with trying to be godly or pious or evangelical like most of what you will find in Amish Romance. Basically because the writer is not trying to sell the book as if it were written to Amish standards.

As was pointed out in this article I read on the subject most of this Amish Romance is being written by women who have no clue what the hell they are talking about when it concerns Amish values. They simply want to repackage Christian Inspirational Romance and dress it up in a bonnet for the rubes looking for something a tad sexier than Little House On The Prairie.

Annette Blair who is actually looked down upon online by these Amish Romance fan girls is simply subverting the whole issue even further. She is taking Erotic Romance and dressing it up in a pretty bonnet and pointing out the big fat lie.

If you want authentic Amish Romance then first you better find yourself some written by a “real” Amish writer or else it’s all just a put on. Otherwise Erotic Amish Romance which is plainly what this book is all about is just as realistic as any stuck up Inspirational Amish Romance since “real” Amish do not commercialize or promote their religion like an Oral Roberts bake sale.

In fact my ex-holy roller opinion is that the Amish are probably the only “true” Christians left. Which is a good thing and a bad thing. I mean, I respect them because they actually are attempting to live all the Christian values to the fullest but they point out all the bad aspects of trying to do so. It’s not like I want anyone Amish banking, engineering, teaching, or running this country if you get my drift but then we probably should not allow the other types of less biblically literate hypocritical Christians do so either really. If they cannot live at least to the minimal Amish standards of their own professed beliefs why give them much more to do?

I can’t review this book in total yet but it is already living up to all my twisted naughty piggy dreams. Go give it a shot if you are looking for a quick fun M/F erotic read in a bonnet like that movie Witness without the car in the barn. Fight the power!

  1. Penelope wrote,

I freakin’ loved this book. 1. Because the hero has a beard. 2. Because the hero has a beard….haa haa, just kidding (sort of). Honestly, I found this story very emotional and touching. I bawled like a baby at the end. I’m not worried about any Amish FICTIONAL story being “authentic” in that way. Anyhow, I just imagine all the Amish dudes look like Harrison Ford (with a beard of course). Enjoy the book!
