From: Shuffling Through A Bookless Desert ~ Bear, Otter and the Kid
as a reader and consumer, I don’t appreciate being the testing or practice run for an author; if I’m paying full price for a book, I expect it to be polished and produced appropriately by the publisher, with the best efforts of both the author and the publisher. The time for learning your craft is before you start asking people to pay for your work IMO.
This is exactly why I dropped Dreamspinner Press like a bad habit and exactly why I roll my eyes whenever anyone mentions Torquere Press and exactly why I cut down on my reviews and exactly why I get tired of even commenting on these new eBooks.
You can only say the same fucking stupid ass shit so many times before you end up tired of repeating the fucking most obvious things imaginable… Listen, amateur hour is for free fan fiction forums and Nifty Erotic Archive if you have no clue how to write a fucking story by now quit asking people for god damned money you idiot!
It’s nice to see I am not the only one getting pissed off at promises made after the fact of getting “better” while the poor stupid jerk reader is paying top dollar for craptastic unedited dreck with maybe a pretty cover and a great sales blurb slapped the fuck on it.
I keep wondering who wrote the fucking sales blurb and where can I buy their book because frankly they are the only “real writer” in the whole equation because everyone else involved in my opinion is a raging asshole who could not be bothered with doing their best in the first place!
AAAAAAAAAAGH! Sorry, was that too strong?

I’ve reached the point where I’m unwilling to pay any amount (let alone top dollar) for books from some publishers. And as I was writing that post, I had to resist the urge to include snark about having read better edited fan fiction.

Oh I held back about Nifty Erotic having better grammer. That my friend is the killer part of my rant when I start flashing the BIG KNIFE.

I guess errors and bad editing doesn’t matter http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12156759-bear-otter-and-the-kid

Well think of it this way thousands of people can eat at a bad restaurant and only a few will get sick. Eventually they will earn themselves a reputation.
This was not my review this was someone else saying the exact same things I have said before and eventually Dreamspinner will earn itself a reputation.

K.A. Mitchell: Bad Boyfriend ~ TBR | The Naughty Bits wrote,
[...] The facts are too many Gay Romances this year even from some of the top epublishers blew the fuck up over content editing. The authors in many cases had written top heavy or bottom heavy stories that parts needed trimming and/or fleshing out and the editors were obviously absent to tell them to fix the content issues. Then in the “candy wrapper” crew you have Gay Romance epubs like Dreamspinner getting away with what seems to be absolutely no content editing at all. I simply refuse to buy from them anymore because they are tragic and from their lame excuses you know, they know, they are selling rough drafts. [...]
