The game wants you to choose either joining the Imperial shit heads that were trying to kill you at the start of the game or joining the Storm Cloaks and becoming a pawn for that crew which is just what the evil elves next door want you to do.
OR… Go to Whiterun and join the Companions who also happen to be a jolly band of werewolves.
Well, since I remember the NCR all too well from Fallout.. nasty pieces of bureaucracy at work all of them. I decided fuck the Imperial dips and I still am on the fence about the all too convenient rebels with too many causes, old stormy weather cloaked gang, but werewolves and weapons and guns for hire… well that sounds rock & roll to little old me.

Oh and first thing! Make it easy for yourself at the beginning of the game. If you ever played Fallout 3 you know by now to get the house in Whiterun first. So go get all that money together and do that first. It makes stashing loot and crafting supplies so much easier.
I have not really done very much with the potions and all that but I did pretty good on the black smithing and enchanting. I found Glass made a really protective light plate type armor and the weapons are some of the best till you can start making Dragon armor around 100% completed.
Prudently using some of those Blacksmith’s Elixirs while making your own armor and weapons is a great plus. I like to use the Glass War Axe and enchant it with Soul Trap and have a nice supply of empty soul stones on hand. So my focus has been on smithing and enchanting and not much else so far but I am now pretty deadly in any fight I have gotten into.
