McCormick ~ Slow Cookers: Beef Stroganoff
I should do a commercial for these people!
Now we are going to hack the recipe a bit so follow along…
1 Big ass onion the biggest you can find chop up fine and stick in the bottom of your slow cooker.
2-3 pounds of beef stew meat. Take a small pan and with a little oil brown these suckers up.
Dump the browned stew meat on top of all that onion.
2 packages of those pre-sliced plastic wrapped portobello mushrooms just dump on top of the meat. These type of shrooms can cook all day and still stay in one piece.
1 cup of warm water and the packet contents mix well and pour on top.
Cook all day on low and let this baby boil down and become a rich dark brown gravy like concoction.
Boil up some No Yolks egg noodles for as many people as are eating.
Before serving dump a 16oz thing of sour cream into the stewy mess and stir it up real nice before dumping on the pile of noodles.
Easy, requires no thinking or real cooking skills and tastes better than Hamburger Helper any day!

I want this for supper tonight. On rice instead of noodles. Watching my carbs.

And yes, I know rice is technically a carb, but IT’S DIFFERENT.

We had this for dinner last night, Tp, and it was excellent — nice and easy, to boot. Thanks!
