McCormick ~ Slow Cookers: Italian Herb Chicken
I told you I should do commercials for these guys. Anyway, we are gonna hack this one too so just follow along…
1 Big ass onion the biggest you can find chop up fine and stick in the bottom of your slow cooker.
4 chicken thighs or just enough chicken pieces to fill the bottom of the slow cooker in one layer. I like leaving the bone in for this slow cooker stuff so you get some firmness with the chicken.
1 package of those pre-sliced plastic wrapped portobello mushrooms just dump on top of the meat.
1 package of those pre-sliced plastic wrapped cremini mushrooms just dump on top of the meat.
Now in a small bowl or a really big measuring cup mix the following together in a sloppy mess.
1 6oz can tomato paste (get the stuff with the basil in it)
2 14.5oz cans of Stewed Tomatoes (get the stuff with the basil in it)
1 package of McCormick Slow Cookers: Italian Herb Chicken Seasoning
Take the bowl of well mixed tomato slop and dump into your slow cooker and then use a spatula to spread it over everything evenly to cover it up.
Set on low and leave to cook all day long.
Easy, requires no thinking or real cooking skills and tastes better than Hamburger Helper any day!
I always serve over Stove Top Cornbread Stuffing.
I personally believe every child leaving for college should be given a large slow cooker with a case of Campbells Cream Of Mushroom & Cream Of Celery soup and a case of these McCormick Slow Cooker Seasonings and told if they want anything different or better they will just have to learn to cook for themselves. Buh bye now!

The recipes you post make me hungry. I try to grow basil every year. Sometimes I end up with enough to make lots of pesto, sometimes just enough to make homemade bruschetta. There’s nothing like fresh basil, though.

I totally agree but most people cannot seem to get the fresh in a pinch so all my recipes are good stick to your ribs type food using store bought pre-packaged typical shelf stuff with a couple of nods to the new pre-packaged produce aisle stuff but they are extremely delicious if you go even fresher or homemade ingredients.
Oh and I serve this over that cornbread style stove top stuffing.
