My old Cuisinart Grind & Brew is getting old and frankly I am just getting tired of prying the parts out to clean every morning. The grinder part is getting worse every time I use it and sometimes the dang thing is really stuck in there. I looked at the other available models… the Breville YouBrew… the Capresso CoffeeTeam… and lastly another updated Cuisinart Grind & Brew with less parts supposedly.
I just came to the conclusion after reading all the reviews that either you stick with grinding the beans separately and brewing them in yet another gadget and then having to clean even more parts than I pry apart and clean now or you would have to take a chance on a machine that may or may not work all that well to begin with or stay fully functioning and easy to maintain for very long such as the mess I have to deal with.
NO! No more! I am getting older, not younger. I like small and I like pretty and I like shelf space and I hate having to keep an entire stock on hand of every dang bag and gadget I need to fiddle fart around with coffee every morning. And after everything is said and done even though I might like the final product the reality of the situation is I might as well have gone down the street to Starbucks and had them make a cup for me because at least I would be more relaxed and not have to worry about the repetition of coffee cleanup.
So after an impromptu Thursday night visit to Williams Sonoma to get more… Golden Malted waffle mix the tastiest nummiest waffle makin mix on the planet… here I am at home with my new Nespresso Pixie which I got with $75 bucks of free coffee capsules (A mail in your receipt deally) and a Nespresso magic automatic Milk Frother in a package deal. Not cheap mind you, but cheaper than buying these expensive items separately.
It has to be the gayest thing in my kitchen! Gayer than me. Nessspresssso Pixie… I’ll fly away amongst the stars showering caffeinated fairy dust upon the heavens! The latest in cutesy capsulized plug and play mini-coffeemaker technology. This might just turn out to be the “free razor” where they make it all back by selling you the expensive blades. I’ll let you know how it works out. I must say it tastes really good and very little if any cleanup.
Update! That silly Nespresso magic milk frother… wow! Honest to god custard consistency warm milk foam and you even have to watch it because it will get carried away with too much milk. It really is magic.
