See's Dark Chocolate Bordeaux

See’s Dark Chocolate Bordeaux

On the counter
By your keys
Was a book of numbers
And your remedies
One of these
Surely will screen out the sorrow
But where are you tomorrow
Steely Dan ~ Black Cow

Dark Chocolate dusted in chocolate sprinkles with a rich brown sugar buttercream center.

Oh yeah, put my Christmas order in! Fun fact: You know the candy factory scene in I Love Lucy where her and Ethel end up eating tons of candy off a conveyor belt? Yep! That’s See’s candy, they started in LA and are now out of San Francisco like any proper candy company should be.

And why can’t we get it easily on the East Coast? One thing I miss about the West.

Oh yum. My late, much missed father’s favorite. He’d eat the fancy stuff like Neuhaus, Leonidas, etc., but he never missed his holiday box of See’s, and I would get him a box with extra Bordeaux for Father’s Day and his birthday. *sniffle*

See’s sets up holiday kiosks in the big malls at this time of year here in flyover country. I’m partial to the Almond Royals and molasses crisps, myself.

Between the incredibly scary christmas album mentioned earlier (memories of which I’ve tried to repress but have now sprung free thanks to you), and the See’s 1 pound box of Bordeaux which my mother got every year and my sister and I would pilfer late at night, I’ve been on a trip down memory lane…

Is that album not a trip or what? And if you have not tried these Bordeaux deallys order a pound box right now $20 free shipping too. They are evil good.

That has done it I will have to go and have a salted caramel or passionfruit cream at Kokoblack now while I think about Chance and Sweets to the Sweet

That album gives me flashbacks of the harvest gold shag carpet in my parent’s house and the near constant playing of that horror or the Andy Williams Christmas Album on the turntable. Memories. Ugh.

And due to your terrifying powers of suggestion, I ended up in the See’s on Market. Bordeaux, Scotchmallows, California Brittle and Molasses Chips all made their way home with me. But now, seeing Merrian’s choices, I want the passionfruit cream! Maybe I’m easily swayed?
