What kind of light does the kitchen get? If it is from the north or east primarily, I would hesitate to use the Bicycle Yellow, because the color is cooler and could go grey beige in weak light. If the room gets more south/west light or mostly artificial light, either will work.

Personally, I'd go for the Yellow Brick Road. It's warmer, will create more contrast with the white cabinets, and references the Wizard of Oz - all pluses in my book.

Nice review! I have always said that The Year Of The Unicorn is one of the most under-appreciated fantasy books of the 20th Century. I have read it several times and each time I come away even more convinced that it is her best book. It is wonderfully subtle. It's atmosphere is perfect. And it's characters are perfectly drawn.
I think I need to read it again this weekend.

I only use Behr paint. Good stuff. My mom likes Velspar and hasn't had any issues with it, but I am totally sold on the quality of Behr.

I'm not a yellow person, don't care for the color at all, but out of the two I like the yellow brick road better.

Many many writers will probably end up asking that same question once they get to see the tricky wonders of Scrivener and Mac OSX.

Hey, thanks for the tip! The more I explore on my mac, the more I fall in love with it...I was even disappointed at one point that my microsoft office for macs didn't come with onenote and then I found an app that just about blows onenote out of the water in terms of my needs while I'm in class. Disappointment is for PCs lol. And I think scrivener is just about the best thing since sliced bread, I'm already a million times more organized when it comes to my writing projects. Talk about making life easier. The only question is why I didn't get a macbook sooner!

Slight preference to for Yellow Brick Road...little warmer. ('Course I painted my living room ceiling a color called "potato chip." so take my suggestions with a grain of salt.
