I suddenly realized that I was more into watching those Project Runway reruns on the Style channel than watching last nights episode. I caught the very end of this weeks episode and realized I just have lost all interest in this season. Even the bitchy villains feel recycled from better bitchy villains. Let’s just declare Victor the winner and go home.

OMG! Oh this is so special… this is basically Toddlers & Tiaras without the rugrats. Um no no it still has screaming brats involved but they are sorta adult while being hairy and masculine too. Things I have heard so far… “They are twittering mean things about me.” Oh oh and then the girlfriend mentioned something about seeing a strange “catty side” while they showed pictures of guys in pink plastic curlers…

It’s called BOG. Big Old Girl.

This show has more pretty princess hissy fits than a Friday night at the Lone Star and they act like they are being these super macho real men. You have got to see this.

Holy shit! What the hell was that going on the runway last night.

I went to bed early so I did not stay up and watch and good thing because I probably would have turned the whole whack and a hat off and gone to bed anyway.

What does creating outfits for circus stilt walkers have to do with anything this show (“was” and I say that loosely) supposed to be about? And then! and then, good god they judge the outfits based on how they would translate to real women’s wear?!?! Oh sure it’s a sign of great fashion to have your stilt walker show up at the office on trend. The winner basically ripped off this seasons Gucci! It’s the revenge of Kenley on stilts… AAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Clearly they were grasping at straws for this episode and provided little to no direction which showed up in what the contestants did (Some went costume others went for the xerox) and it did not help matters that the judges acted shocked at what happened. This season has been tepid at best. The contestants meh. The judging meh. The chosen tasks have been meh.

Tim’s running around looking more and more perplexed. They are gonna break him.

Now this train wreck…

It basically makes Isaac Mizrahi and his Fashion Show seem almost fair and reasonable in comparison. *sigh* The shark has long gone jumped off the cliff by now.

Project Runway Season 9
Starts Thursday July 28th! Finally

Oh god here we go again. They tried showing that last nasty ass season this week and I still hated it. The first half of the season was a drag watching these egomaniacal losers constantly bad mouth Michael C one by one as he keeps winning and then watching the head snot nose queen granny pants win the whole season while Mondo who deserved to win with the sad talentless line up they left us with at the end sat there and took the abuse of having to stand on stage with that bitch as she went on and on with her ever grating commentary.

If I had to point to one thing, one negative aspect, that ended up killing the whole show then that repulsive loud mouthed harpy ruined last season from the beginning to the bitter end.

UGH!

What a train wreck… I have a bad feeling this season might not be that much better from the drama soaked previews they are showing.

For the most part if it is a cooking show I will watch it. Add to the fact it is on BBC America and that tends to be a sure bet I will watch it.

Unfortunately if you do any digging on this character you find out his game which is the old “If I can do it, so can you!” is plainly bullshit.

His restaurant chain based on supposedly this simple “successful” cooking philosophy he expounds are in as much dire straits as any of the restaurants that he is “trying to help” on his show. Then you dig a little more and you find out that roughly half of these places end up closing any way.

All of this is proof the main premise and the name attached to it are flawed and the outcome is you are basically watching a television show about these drowning people clutching at this rock who is sinking as fast as they are except he has his celebrity to fall back on when he does not sell enough plates at the end of the week. Besides whatever you can say good or bad about his personality what it comes down to is all Gordon is doing is making money off his fame and this show, not his restaurants, not his cooking, or any other measurable business success in the real world market outside of TV land.

It’s not fun to me watching someone lie about his success week after week.

I finally bought up to season 8 of the Project Runway DVDs. I have to say that my favorite season remains season 4 on Bravo with the much deserving Christian V. Siriano winning and the entertaining theatrical styling of a forever snoozing Chris March. That whole season was fun and interesting and every show had another exciting glimpse of the combined talent being displayed by most of the designers.

Now you might expect I would say the change over to Lifetime ruined the show but I still think season 5 showed that staff changes or something behind the scenes was already starting to drag the show down into the deep darks.

So OK, in the end I think this show jumped the shark around season 5 when the break with Bravo probably created upheaval with the staff.

In summary season 1 was a mess of figuring out what the show was going to be about. I mean Jay McCarroll won?!? What the hell was that? Then season 2 was the Santino show when personality took over the camera time and in season 3 Laura Bennett should have won based on her immaculate personal style of dressing alone and it also had Uli (Queen of the Moo Moo the female version of the Hawaiian shirt) and things were starting to hit their stride by the time my favorite season 4 comes around.

Now since I bought the last few DVDs I have to say things were getting quiet on Lifetime and almost too serious and down right boring but then season 8. OMG! The over production of drama was so evident. Queen Crunchy Granola Bitch from Hell was a clone of Angela Keslar down to her White Trash Trailer Park Chic heart. The “all ego” and “no talent to back it up with” contestants all attacked Michael C either in group chats or one on one and that forced me to want them all to go away. Admittedly Michael C may not have had the level of talent of a Christian V. Siriano but neither did anyone else on the whole damn show (Cheating with double sided tape or whatever. Maybe some of these guys should have started using double sided tape themselves if it changes the playing field so much. I might have found some ruthless sticky boobed designer to root for!) and I like Mondo sort of but he was an almost exact copy of Seth Aaron from season 7. And I ask you…

Why why why was Peach and April kept around for so long? What was that all about? Pity is such an ugly thing when you can see the lack of talent and ideas for yourself right there in front of you time and time again. You can not hide crap like that on this show although Lifetime tries to hide the clothes with their shitty editing.

So season 8 of Project Runway in the end simply leaves you with a strong scent of stale ideas and soured desperation and having the Walmart knockoff designer villain win the grand prize at the end is never a good thing. Especially when Mondo had more talent in his little pinky than That Fucking Bitch Jones would ever have and he was just a rehash of season 7′s winner.

I keep saying Mondo was a Project Runway rehash because remember Jeffrey Sebelia used those crazy punk rock plaids to win the Couture du Jour challenge all the way back in season 3 and then Seth Aaron came along to win all of season 7 by adding houndstooth and really striking “Burberry” quality tailoring. All tricks Mondo recycled heavily in his run on the show so that’s just my opinion. Nice guy and all and he should have won but only because of the total lack of talent and crapola taste of his competition.

Two words… Granny Panties. Not once in the final show for season 8, oh no, but fucking three times and then Wretchen wore some on stage with some leggings to keep them from falling off her nasty bony ass I guess. Kors and Nina you are going blind or you have fucking lost your freaking minds or both.

Let’s hope maybe they freshen things up and dump Kors and Nina this time instead of dragging them back obviously not by choice just to try and relive the glory days and get some real judges setting a new direction on that show really quick. Keep Heidi and Tim around because they seem to still care about what goes down that runway and they do not overlook little things like god damned Granny Panties!

He is a huge Golden Girls fan and you should have seen him going around the bar showing everyone his new purse. With this post I think I have just taken this blog to a whole new level of gay.
